Jeff Johnson, owner of Johnson’s Auto Repair at 9418 35th Ave NE, recently expanded to lease the Spirit gas station on the northeast corner of the intersection at 9500 35th Ave NE.

These two corner sites are what remains of the “gas station era” in the Wedgwood neighborhood, including the time when there were three gas stations at the NE 95th Street intersection.

Jeff Johnson’s family tradition of auto service includes his father Roy, who once had a gas station on NE 45th Street by University Village, and Jeff’s son who has been working with Jeff for several years now.

Over his lifetime Jeff Johnson has had some interesting sidelines to his work in the auto shop.  He has been a local stand-up comedian, had a brief career as a hydroplane racer (ending in a scary crash) and has worked for the Seattle Seahawks as a member of the chain crew.

When not developing new side jobs, Jeff has served by going to Mexico with his church’s mission to build homes for the needy.   Jeff’s current second job is as mayor of the City of Lake Forest Park!
