Growler Guys Opens Today

Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 5 PM is the long-awaited opening of the Growler Guys at 8500 Lake City Way NE.  In the 1930s this site on Wedgwood’s western edge was part of a cluster of road houses along the highway.  From 1970 to 2016 it was Ying’s Drive-In which closed because the owners retired.

The new Growler Guys seeks to combine the best of beer choices with a warm atmosphere.  There is eat-in space as well as the “growler” service which is to fill your own container with beer to take home.

The cheerful staff members of the new Growler Guys are ready and waiting to welcome you!

The downstairs of Growler Guys, where the restrooms are located, has a display wall of the original architectural plans for the building back when it first opened as “Club 19.”  There is also an original sign from Ying’s which was the long-time (40+ years) at the site.
